Will Apple try to break into console gaming?

Apple could possibly be looking to break into the console market. According to this website, Apple has hired former Xbox Product Marketing chief Rob Burrowes and named him head of App Store Marketing. The article then goes on to talk about Apple's mobile gaming market, but I believe they may be looking to do even more. And with the rumored Apple iTV, this looks to be possible in the near future. Some say that Apple and their casual gaming market will eventually end the age of consoles, and that games like Temple Run will be the only types of games available. This is a possibility. But the possibility that Apple may just throw in their lot with the other console developers should not be ignored. With the next generation of consoles quickly approaching, Apple may be looking to make some waves in the console market, and challenge the Wii U, Xbox 720 and Playstation 4, bringing the console war to a four-way struggle.

I'm not saying that this is for sure, but recent events may suggest that Apple is making a move against consoles, one way or another.
