E3 2012 Overview

I didn't get a chance to watch E3 live or all the way through as I had planned - life got in the way - but I was still able to see a lot of the new stuff. The Xbox 360 SmartGlass? Mediocre. We have enough tablet wannabes. Black Ops 2? Bleh. TES Online? I'm not even going to go there.

However, there were some good things there. Halo 4 looks pretty great, and so does Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Assassin's Creed 3 looks like a solid addition to the series that has a lot of new features.

Honestly, I didn't get a chance to take a look at anything on the Sony or Nintendo side of things (which does not bother me too much). However, there is one thing I think Xbox did right at their press conference. They added more channels to their new TV feature, including Machinima. That was pretty much the highlight of the Microsoft press conference to me.

Overall, E3 2012 was... underwhelming, at best. Hopefully there will be more to show at PAX and Gamescom.
